There are many things in my city tap water, including fluoride. There may be fluoride in your water too especially if you live in an urban area. It gets there by being added by the water supply companies.

I believe that Fluoride in our water supply is slowly poisoning us, but the ADA has convinced us otherwise – that this waste product is good for us, protecting our teeth against cavities. From what I have researched, the same amount of fluoride in a pea sized amount of toothpaste is the same amount in 8 oz. of fluoridated tap water. Yet the toothpaste warns if ingested to contact the poison control center immediately. If you drink 8 glasses of water you are getting 8 times the fluoride.

Ingesting too much fluoride can cause a number of health concerns. Since we all drink different amounts of water the amount ingested varies. If you are someone like me who drinks a lot of water everyday, even from the Brita filter, you are consuming large amounts of fluoride. Purchasing a fluoride filter or high quality bottled water may be expensive, but it’s looking for likely that I will do so.

Because Fluoride occurs in toothpaste, beverages, processed food, fresh fruits and vegetables, vitamins and mineral supplements we are consuming much more than when the fluoridation act started in the 40s when it was thought about 1mg would be consumed. It is estimated that 8mg are consumed on a daily basis.  And if drinking is wasn’t toxic enough, a hot steamy shower can be like drinking 8 glasses of contaminated water! This is because we breathe in the fumes and absorb it through our skin.

Now that I am aware of this toxin, how to I get it out of my system? This is my next research project.
