7 Secrets All Happy Women Know
(and other women wish they knew!)

#5 of 7: Eat, Drink, and Be Merry

You’d be hard-pressed to find a woman who
doesn’t enjoy a good oil massage or vacation
in Hawaii.

I’m nearly drooling just thinking about it!

That’s because both of these things drop us
into our senses. Whether it’s melting under the
firm, intuitive touch of a good masseuse, or donning
a bikini while standing in humid ocean breezes,
we come ALIVE through FEELING.

This is the abode of the feminine. We are truly
energetic geniuses!

The reality is, though, that we can’t wait
for spa visits or vacations to relax into who we
are. We need to live with rich presence in even the
most ordinary of moments.

One of my greatest inspirations, Dipa Ma, was an
Indian woman who lived in Burma. A devout mother
and wife, she was riddled with illness for most of
her life. And it wasn’t until middle-age that she could
devote her time and attention to self-realization. She
started going to meditation retreats, afterwards
incorporating what she learned into her daily life.

She’d feel the water run over her hands as she washed
the dishes, or notice the warmth of the sun on her
back as she hung her laundry. She practiced mindfulness
of FEELING in every available moment. It didn’t take
long for her to reach self-realization.

You can do the same thing.

Try this:

1. Blindfold yourself for one hour when you’re at home
(even 15 minutes will work if an hour’s too
intimidating).

2. Orient yourself through your senses.  Eat blindfolded,
get dressed blindfolded, take a bath blindfolded, find
your way around your home blindfolded.

3. When you’re finished, contemplate what new parts of
yourself you called upon and how your experience
differed from your usual, visual self.
